Why an extraordinary mission month?
15 Giugno 2019
Towards October 2019 to celebrate an extraordinary mission month.
Pope Benedict XV, the “missionary pope,” wrote the Apostolic Letter "Maximum Illud", in 1919.
The Pope challenged us to proclaim the Gospel with a more evangelical approach to mission work in the world.
The reason for mission activity:
- The proclamation of the love of Jesus, through our witness of life and good works.
- To rekindle in all Christians, especially the priests, the awareness of mission work.
- Recalling the words: "Go to the whole world and proclaim the Gospel to everyone" (Mk 16:15).
- In fact, by its nature, the Church is missionary: its vocation and identity is to share the Gospel.
- Therefore, we must commit ourselves with all our energies.
- For Mission is the paradigm of every work of evangelization.
