CALLED TO LIVE UNITY IN DIVERSITY
Our Theology community is formed of people from different countries and cultures. We are called to live unity in the diversity of our origins. Therefore, each one of us strives to be funny and tries to adapt to a variety of situations and to get along with others.
We also always try to see everyone’s positive side and their good intentions, discovering that we all are brothers and friends and that we should love each other as Christ does In this way, by sacrifying a little bit our own interests and likes, we encourage a community lifestyle that radiates the joy of the Gospel.
For us Xaverians, meeting others and accepting others have always been one of the greatest challenges in our way, both within the community and outside the community.
In fact, our daily community life involves not only living with others, but it also implies the ability to share with others what I am and what I have. Meeting the other one gives us the possibility of increasing our capacity to be hospitable and welcoming and, at the same time, it gives us the opportunity to live a much more concrete and real fraternity. For this reason, we Xaverians live with others avoinding making any distinction of race, skin color or social condition.
This makes us free and allows us to love every person that God’s Providence puts in our path.
Living in a multicultural community is not easy, especially because we relate to people who think different. In fact, the mentality of those who come from Asia, for instance, is different to the way of thinking of Latinos, Africans or Europeans. Our charism and our mission demand us to bear witness of unity within our communities and in the places we work. For this we are given the necessary time to adapt to new situations.
The goal of our Xaverian vocation is characterized by a spirit of faith that makes us see God, seek God and love God in all things, awakening in us the desire to spread his Kingdom everywhere. We are called to be sent to proclaim the Gospel to different people and cultures, that is why we are trained in international and multicultural communities, outside our own countries.
In this way, with our own cultural richness, we seek to make the world a single family in Christ and, just like that, make our Saint Founder’s dream come true.
